Daniel Stanton

Solicitor

Areas of Expertise:
I help clients buy and sell their businesses and lease commercial and industrial units.

Why did you choose the legal profession?
It is more a question as to why I chose the law in general – the effects of the law and the reasoning for it is fascinating and it allows me to be creative in solving problems, using the tools which the law provides.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
The telephone call or email to my client when we’ve reached completion when we’ve had to work hard to overcome some hurdles along the way.

Profile of the Month

November - Daniel Stanton
Commercial / commercial property solicitor Poole office

Daniel is one of our key people in our property team at Poole. Aged 30 and a Dorset man, Daniel was brought up in Weymouth from the age of 8 where he went to school, later studying law at Southampton University followed by the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University finishing off with the Professional Skills course at the College of Law in London.

He took a training contract with Laceys in Bournemouth and was admitted as a solicitor on 1st October 2004

Daniel settled in Poole and joined us in January 2008 where he initially assisted senior partner Roger Turner and now carries his own case load, specialising in the sales and purchases of businesses, commercial property and business leases. He also assists his commercial clients with ancillary matters such as debt collection and freehold management issues. A number of his clients have large property portfolios that keep him in regular contact with the challenges facing commercial landlords in the market.

He married Susie in June 2008 and they are expecting their first child due in January next year.

Out of the office Daniel is part of the leadership team at a local Duke of Edinburgh Aware Scheme unit, co-ordinating the Award at Bronze level for up to 21 young participants, as well as lending support to other levels. The expedition section sees him keep extremely active with expeditions to all part of the country, training young people in the teamwork and skills necessary to survive whatever the British weather and terrain can throw at them! Unsurprisingly, Daniel was one of the first to volunteer to climb ten of the highest peaks in England in a single day as part of D’Angibau’s successful Mountain Challenge Team in September this year.

Daniel is very active in marketing and promoting the firm, taking an active role in meeting potential new clients and introducing them to our services. He is a major contributor to the articles section of our website.
